Ingredients
Sausages
- 4 links fresh Italian pork sausages four 3-ounce fresh pork links; about 12 ounces total, not precooked
- 1/4 teaspoon neutral oil optional, only if sausages are very lean
Equipment
- Air fryer
- Instant-read food thermometer
- Tongs
Instructions
- Preheat to 375°F for 3 minutes if the model recommends it. Lightly oil the basket only if needed to prevent sticking.
- Pat sausages dry and place in a single layer with space between each. Do not prick the casings; keeping them intact helps retain juices.
- Cook at 375°F for about 12 to 16 minutes, turning once halfway through. Begin checking smaller links near 10 minutes; exact time depends on thickness and appliance.
- Insert an instant-read thermometer through the end into the center of each sausage. Cook ground pork sausage to at least 160°F. Poultry sausage must reach 165°F; follow any longer package method.
- Rest links for 3 minutes, then serve. If the outside browns before the center is ready, lower the air fryer temperature and continue in short intervals.
