  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • 1 cup ice cubes for stirring; discarded after straining

Notes

Nutrition and cost are estimates for one cocktail, including one cherry. Alcohol contributes calories that are not reflected in carbohydrate, fat and protein alone. With 60 ml rye at 40% ABV and 30 ml vermouth at 16% ABV, the drink contains about 23 g alcohol, approximately 1.6 US standard drinks; bitters add a small amount. Higher-proof bottles increase this. Ice dilution does not remove alcohol. This recipe is for adults of legal drinking age; do not drink if alcohol is unsuitable for you, and do not drive after drinking.
Video credit: How To Drink demonstrates the same 2:1 rye-to-sweet-vermouth ratio with two dashes of bitters. Glassware and garnish presentation may differ.
